چکیده
There is a growing use of radionuclide therapy for the medical care oncology patients, where radioactive pharmaceuticals are used to target and treat various cancer types. This paper provides brief overview illustrating spectrum ongoing recently completed clinical trials in oncology. The selected highlight potential therapies provide promising treatment option across while also discussing importance patient selection monitoring, as well side effects safety concerns. Ultimately, results these will be crucial determining future treatment.

Developmental trends in targeted radionuclide therapy of neuroendocrine tumors
Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) constitute a heterogeneous group of neoplasms including carcinoids, pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, pituitary tumors, medullary thyroid carcinoma and phaeochromocytomas. The symptoms and the outcome of NETs differ considerably between patients depending on several factors. By labelling tracers with a radioisotope, the tracer acts as a ...
متن کاملTargeted Radionuclide Therapy
Targeted radiotherapy is an evolving and promising modality of cancer treatment. The killing of cancer cells is achieved with the use of biological vectors and appropriate radionuclides. Among the many advantages of this approach are its selectiveness in delivering the radiation to the target, relatively less severe and infrequent side effects, and the possibility of assessing the uptake by the...
متن کاملProspects in Folate Receptor-Targeted Radionuclide Therapy
Targeted radionuclide therapy is based on systemic application of particle-emitting radiopharmaceuticals which are directed toward a specific tumor-associated target. Accumulation of the radiopharmaceutical in targeted cancer cells results in high doses of absorbed radiation energy whereas toxicity to non-targeted healthy tissue is limited. This strategy has found widespread application in the ...
متن کاملTargeted radionuclide therapy: frontiers in theranostics.
The concept of targeted radionuclide therapy (TRT) relies on the use of injected nuclear medicine as treating agents, targeted at the cellular or molecular level. The growth of the interest in TRT was stimulated by the advances in radionuclide production and labeling as well as by the improvement in the knowledge of appropriate and specific molecular targets. In recent years, different studies ...
